About the Farm Credit Archive Project

The Farm Credit Archive is a joint venture of the Farm Credit Council and the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, developed with the intention of publicizing the economic, social, and political influences of the Federal Farm Loan Act, signed on 17 July 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson, as well as subsequent modifications to this legislation.

The Archive has benefited from the work of Postdoctoral Fellow Sara Gregg and a number of research assistants, including Julie Flippen, John Nelson, Steven Scott, and Jeffrey White.  It has been supported by the tireless efforts of the staff of the Farm Credit Council, especially President Kenneth Auer, as well as Michael Mason and Greg Morrison.  Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library staff, including former Executive Director Eric Vettel and former Director of the Library Heidi Hackford, contributed immeasurably to the site's conceptualization.

Sara Gregg is the Farm Credit Council postdoctoral fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library.  She received her Ph.D. in U. S. History from Columbia University, and taught at Iowa State University before moving to the Wilson Library.  Her academic research considers the intersections of political, agricultural, and environmental history, and she has two books in production with Yale University Press:  Managing the Mountains:  Progressive Reform, the New Deal, and the Creation of a Federal Landscape in Appalachia, and American Georgics:  The Agrarian Thread in American History, co-edited with Brian Donahue and Edwin Hagenstein.
